Alison Locke

I have been crafting and conducting ceremonies throughout New Zealand, for well over a decade. I am based in Nelson and I conduct ceremonies throughout New Zealand. ​I am a Registered Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant, with a Certificate in Celebrant Studies, from the Celebrant School of New Zealand.​​ I am also a Validated member of the Celebrants’ Association and can officiate at Registry weddings. As well as weddings I conduct funerals, blessings ,and ceremonies for baby naming and the renewal of vows.

I create ceremonies for any life transition, or rite of passage, helping you honour the moment, with a meaningful and memorable ceremony. I strongly believe in the power and significance of ceremony and ritual in people’s lives. I love creating ceremonies which enrich and strengthen relationships, family, whanau and community. I am committed to creating ceremonies which reflect the dreams, values and beliefs of my clients. I therefore work closely with you to craft a ceremony, which is as individual and unique as you and your family/whanau are – a true reflection of the important relationships in your life.I particularly enjoy helping couples – both heterosexual and same-sex – to celebrate their commitment and love for each other, in a style which feels right for them – formal or informal, traditional or contemporary.

I am very happy to help couples and families/whanau to honour their ethnic, cultural or religious backgrounds, by incorporating aspects of these, into their ceremonies. In my celebrant work I draw on my own family background and my professional experience as a teacher, counsellor and supervisor with many community involvements. I’ve been married for 39 years and I have 3 three adult children and 3 grandchildren.
