Lucas Vetter

My name is Lucas Vetter, and I am an independent funeral celebrant and registered marriage and civil union celebrant living in the Wellington CBD. I am a young (early 30s) gay man, and I am working as a public servant in the emergency management sector. Here I have managed to help Kiwi’s in their darkest days and am able to give back to communities across the country when they are impacted by earthquakes, floods, fires, and anything else mother nature can throw at people.

Outside of work, I love socialising and filling my life with fun and interesting people. If I’m not out walking or eating with friends, I’ll likely be hosting an intimate evening at home, looking out across the city and enjoying the best wine we can find. With a passion for travel and music, I’ve played the piano since I was 5 years old and have genuinely lost count of the number of countries I’ve visited. I also enjoy planning holidays for others and have a long list of other events I’ve organised and ran from a gala dinner for international organisations through to government conferences. With several years of volunteering for Rainbow Wellington (a local charity in the Wellington region), I’ve also run business networking events, hosted educational seminars and supported community led events.
