Kia ora
My name is Jason Dawson and I’m originally from Te Taitokerau Northland. I am fortunate to be a special blend of two cultures – Māori and European.
My iwi affliations are Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whatua, Te Uri o Hau and Pākehā from the United Kingdom.
I have a background in marketing, communications, public relations, media and event management.
Over the past 25 years, I have been called upon to undertake MC duties at a range of events – from national award events, conferences, citizenship and civic ceremonies, media and product launches and weddings.
However, over the past 10 years, I have led funeral and celebration of life ceremonies for both my parents, our grandfather and a couple of very close friends. I found these experiences rewarding and a privilege to undertake, especially for those you know and love.
I am now available to help support, guide and celebrate others through one of the most important days of their life as a registered celebrant of New Zealand. With my strong communication skills, empathy, understanding of Te Ao Maori, a positive energy and warm sense of humour, I can adjust my style and tone based on your wishes. Regardless of culture, sexual orientation or religious belief, every couple deserves a ceremony that celebrates their love and commitment to each other.
Kia mau te aroha!
Let there be love!
