Becs Rowan

I’m Becs Rowan, an independent funeral celebrant based in Matakana, North Auckland. I work with our local funeral directors and people can book me directly too.  Helping others to create beautiful, meaningful ceremonies that really celebrate the individuality of their loved one is the service I offer. Together we can work out what type of ceremony is fitting, whether it be a modern ceremony, a traditional funeral, or perhaps a memorial, spiritual, non-spiritual, or anything in-between.  

When I wrote and delivered the eulogy at my Mum’s funeral it felt like honouring her in this way was the best thing I had ever done, so I trained with the Celebrants Training College gaining their Certificate in Funeral Celebrancy. I’m quite new to celebrant work, having spent most of my career in the textile and wine industries. My thing has always been organizing, planning, writing and editing, working in teams and public speaking. All of these skills are put to work as a ceremony guide, and for me it’s a privilege to do this work.
