As I write this, we have just celebrated Matariki – a time of remembrance, reflection, and new beginnings. It feels fitting as I reach the end of my tenure on the Celebrants Aotearoa National Executive.
It has been a privilege to work alongside dedicated colleagues, learn from their expertise, and contribute to our organisation. Working with Anna, as President, this year has been a highlight, while I served as Vice-President. While the increase to the Registry Ceremony fee was not as high as we had hoped, achieving 94 percent increase from $90 to $175 is substantial. We are continuing our work on the new website, and we hope to complete it in August.
My thanks also to Hazel, Ilona, Rikki-Lee and Kineta for their knowledge, commitment, and support.
For two years, I have been particularly grateful to work alongside Spike/Elaine Spearman in Communications and, more recently, with Helen O’Shaugnessy and Mel Stuart on VCANZ. Thank you to our VCANZ Validators, who provide a substantial, credible membership service.
I have also valued my involvement with the Auckland Branch and am delighted that Si’iva Stanley is serving as Branch Chair. Supported by a strong team, our Connect Local activities continue to provide Auckland members with valuable learning, networking, and face-to-face connection opportunities throughout the year.
Finally, congratulations and best wishes to the three incoming members of the National Executive. I wish you every success in your new roles.
