I absolutely adore being a celebrant and I love meeting so many different people from all walks of life and hearing and then sharing their beautiful  stories. I have the best job in the world.  

I am primarily a marriage celebrant and have been registered since late 2018.

I have been married for 30 years to my gorgeous sheep and beef high country farmer and we live in a beautiful quiet corner under the Canterbury foothills near Whitecliffs. Our lives are constantly busy as farming is no walk in the park yet I bless everyday realising how very lucky we are to be able to provide for our country. I have a large garden to look after plus I’m the chief administration officer!  I love cooking and we both enjoy entertaining and sharing our piece of rural paradise.  I also miss travelling but in the “new age” we just have to embrace the beauty of our beloved New Zealand.

Now that my nest is empty I am free to get away and travel around the region meeting and providing a service to so many great people at such a happy time in their lives.  My best supporters are our 3 great kids who have so many friends in their early to late 20’s, many of whom are engaged or are in long term relationships therefore word of mouth does wonders for my celebrant work and they always “put a plug in” for me.  My elderly mother has even found me clients in her retirement village, bless her cotton socks!

 I am happy to travel throughout Canterbury or further afield and I relish getting to see so many incredible wedding locations especially in rural areas. Give me a rustic tussock hill overlooking an ice blue lake in the back of beyond and I will enthusiastically wend my way on that dusty gravel road for miles to celebrate my clients memorable day! Being rural myself I tend to marry a lot of agrarian folk!

I am open to all sorts of suggestions from my clients and I can make their ceremony as serious or as amusing as they wish yet I love the traditional too, I have immense respect for the institution of marriage and other special family celebrations.  

Having a passion for drama and writing allows me to express my creativity whilst officiating ceremonies, my clients story is just the beginning of a special relationship that I, as a celebrant am privileged to be a part of.
