Gilian Johnston

I was born in the UK but I have lived in New Zealand since I was a teenager, so I really consider myself a Kiwi!. The majority of that time has been on the North Shore of Auckland, however, we have recently relocated to Te Awamutu in the Waikato. I have been happily married for 40+ years and have 2 adult daughters. My working career has spanned many areas of administration, including events, so I’m good at dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s and happy to lend a hand with your planning if needed. I live by the principle that life is for living, I’m always on the hunt for the next challenge, whether it’s jumping off the Sky Tower, completing the Oxfam 100km walk, cycling Lake Taupo or travelling to a new destination. Other interests include entertaining, golf, walking, travel and the occasional jigsaw!  I am active within Rotary both at a club and district level and very much enjoy being involved in the community and giving back. I love our four legged friends, so if you have a family pet you would like included in your special day, let’s talk and see what the options are to have them involved. Why be a wedding celebrant? Quite simply, I’m a people person, I love being with people, one of my strengths is the ability to relate to people from all walks of life, whatever their background, ethnicity or sexuality. The joining of two people in a relationship is a very special occasion and it gives me the greatest of pleasure to work with couples to realise their hopes and dreams of the special day they have planned.
