Throughout my life I have been honoured to attend a number of weddings – from faith based church weddings through to informal or intimate family and friend weddings.
In 1985, my husband and I chose a garden wedding; we were married for 34 years until his untimely death at the age of 58 years. We loved the custom of being married. Our vows were very important to us and were a strong guide through our years together. I wish this for any couple who choose to take their vows of marriage.
My eldest son and his wife were married in her home country of Iceland, which was yet another exciting experience of wedding culture, family and celebration.
My professional career prior to being a celebrant was very public facing. This means that I am comfortable in groups and confident with public speaking. I have good communication with people I work with, and respect timelines.
Being a celebrant feels very natural to me at this time in my life. I believe our important life ceremonies should be personal and individual, and should reflect your own journey. It’s absolutely about you and yours. As your celebrant I will work with you to make your ceremony your very own.
I have a very relaxed and open way of working with couples and families. I aim to listen to what it is you want. I have a good sense of fun and sensibility, am practical and am easy to relate to.
I am based in Levin in the lovely region of Horowhenua. I’m happy to travel within the greater Manawatu or Wellington region.
