My name is Martin or Marty, and my wife Viv and I live in Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty.

I have been a Celebrant or Master of Ceremonies since 1995 when I officiated at my first Funeral. As such I bring 30 years of experience to the Celebrant role. With years of public speaking experience and a strong empathy with people of all backgrounds I am called upon to assist families with many different types of Ceremony.

I am a Court appointed Registry Style Marriage Celebrant as well as a “normal” or personalized Marriage Celebrant and Civil Union Celebrant. As a Registry Style Celebrant I am available to those couples who want a simple inexpensive wedding ceremony at a venue of mutual convenience. I have performed Registry style wedding ceremonies: at the beach, at local parks, in my lounge at my home, or at the couples home. I have even performed a Ceremony in a Cow Shed!!

I have officiated at many hundreds of Funeral Services, assisting families of all back grounds and ethnicities. I can deliver key parts of funerals/Tangihanga in Te Reo for families who are Tangata Whenua; although I am a pakeha and not fully fluent in Te Reo. I am well versed in the Tikanga of Tangihanga.

I have been the Funeral Celebrant at very small services with fewer than 10 mourners, and performed the service for funerals of 1500+. I am experienced to deliver a Service via ZOOM to absent friends and relatives.

With experience as a Funeral Director I can advise and counsel families at all stages of the funeral process.
