Sharleen Greer

I have completed a Certificate in Celebrant Studies with the intention of focussing more fully on funeral work. I am now at a point in my career where I can be more readily available to support families when they need it. I believe that life’s precious moments need to be acknowledged and, if appropriate, celebrated .It is an absolute honour  to be a celebrant to help mark the end of a loved one’s life. In this role I work in a respectful, sensitive, and empathic manner to weave together a ceremony that is personal and heartfelt.  I am also available for weddings and family ceremonies.

Throughout my adult life, I have woven ceremony into various major life transitions as a means to give depth, connection and meaning to life’s highs and lows. There have been many opportunities where I have been called on to facilitate birthdays, housewarmings, naming ceremonies, pregnancy support, and healing rituals. I had four children, so I had the advantage of lots of practice with marking events in their lives – adding a rich dimension to family life.

By way of professional background, my career started with nursing, and then counselling, childbirth education, and more latterly midlife coaching.  For the last ten years I have had my own coaching business which has led to numerous online events, speaking opportunities and networking conferences. 

My husband and I have lived in the Rodney region for nearly thirty years. Together we walk our two dogs, cruise the harbour in our boat, kayak to our local brewery and involve ourselves with several community projects. I also am a keen bike rider, beach lover, yoga and pilates enthusiast, crafter, and an avid autobiography reader. Recently I have added Nana Shar to my passions.
