At Conference 2025, there was a strong call to uplift and support celebrants who are just beginning their journey – to walk alongside them, mentor them, and help them find their feet in this meaningful mahi.
When the National Executive met recently, it became clear that this need is broader than first imagined. Support isn’t just for those new to celebrancy, but also for experienced celebrants who are new to CANZ, and for anyone stepping into new territory within our profession.
With that in mind, the NE is seeking expressions of interest for a committee dedicated to engaging and supporting celebrants who would benefit most — no matter your background, experience, or pathway into this role. The aim is to create tailored, relevant support that strengthens our whole community and welcomes those coming through with fresh ideas, new energy, and diverse perspectives.
Youth engagement will be one part of this kaupapa, sitting alongside a wider focus on ensuring all celebrants feel connected, encouraged, and equipped to thrive.
