I was recently invited to share some thoughts with the wonderful team at Go With Grace (www.gowithgrace.nz), who have created a thoughtful and practical resource to support people navigating death, dying, grief, and end-of-life planning.
They asked for a celebrant’s perspective on funerals — in particular, insights and reflections on the many different ways funerals are shaped and delivered today.
It was a privilege to have the opportunity to speak to the value of having a celebrant officiate and support a funeral or memorial service, and to highlight the care, skill, and presence celebrants bring to this work. I was honoured to be asked, and I hope I have done justice to the important and meaningful contribution celebrants make in this space.
